Marijuana and Drug
Paraphernalia: Legal Devices for Medical
Use
Under federal regulation, the use
of marijuana for medical purposes is
legal in Canada.
Patients who use cannabis
medically under Health Canada MMAR
policy consume and ingest marijuana
in various methods. These methods
include smoking, vaporizing,
cooking, eating, making tinctures,
sprays and extracts.
|
Most patients who use marijuana medically
purchase devices such as bongs, pipes,
vaporizers, water pipes, hookahs and
rolling papers so that they can consume
their medicine.
Some of these devices have being
categorized by the government as medical
devices, and are currently classed as tax
exempt and covered for reimbursement by
provincial health insurance plans.
The retail outlets that routinely sell
these devices and products are commonly
referred to as "head shops", and
some of these stores experience
controversial scrutiny from authorities
and law enforcement.
For your court case, we base our expert
testimony on years of
first-hand experience with legal
cultivation, shipping, distribution and
patient usage of
marijuana.
